Sama is currently conducting a large-scale KAP study under the Himaya Activity, examining the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of more than 2,100 frontline service providers involved in responding to domestic and sexual violence across the Family Protection and Juveniles Department, Ministry of Social Development, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Interior, and the judiciary.
Sama, in collaboration with WEFIELD, is leading a mixed-methods design that combines nationwide quantitative surveys with in-depth interviews, key informant interviews, and focus group discussions to assess institutional strengths, capacity gaps, and behavioral norms shaping survivor-centered service delivery. The research applies trauma-informed and survivor-centered principles throughout, ensuring ethical rigor and safeguarding. Findings will directly inform Himaya’s monitoring and evaluation framework and guide tailored capacity-building, coordination, and policy interventions to improve survivor protection and justice outcomes
